Since Velata launched in May we’ve heard you chocolate lovers have been getting creative with your dipping! From bacon to jalapenos, is there anything you haven’t dipped in chocolate yet?  It is fun to experiment with dippables, but let’s not forget the classics. Here is a new twist on a classic fondue dippable: the Inside-Out Velata Strawberry.

Step one: Cut the green tops off your freshly washed strawberries. We recommend a v-shaped cut to preserve as much of the strawberry as possible. Make certain that you cut deep enough to expose the hollow center of the strawberry.

Step two: Use your knife to slightly widen the hole of your strawberry; you’ll want to get as much yummy Velata chocolate in your strawberry as possible!

Step three: If you would like your strawberries to stand on their own, cut the tip off each strawberry, giving it a flat surface to balance on. TIP: You can skip this step by using an ice-cube tray, mini-muffin tin, or even an egg carton with a piece of plastic wrap over top (for cleanliness) that will allow your berries to stand straight up for filling.

Step four: Follow the heating directions on a bag of your favorite flavor Velata chocolate (we used milk chocolate) and then fill each strawberry with chocolate. The pour spout on the Velata chocolate is the perfect size to fill strawberries!

Step five: If you’re hoping to eat these quickly, place your strawberries in a freezer for about five minutes, letting the chocolate harden. If you have a little more time before you’d like to serve them, place them in a refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step six: Top with whipped cream (optional) and enjoy!
