Summer is winding down, which means our camping weekends are numbered. Just a few more precious weeks to take the kids hiking, swim in the lake, and laze about in a hammock on a warm afternoon.
But s’mores? You don’t have to give those up, my friend. Oh no. Not only can you make them at home, but you can also stash this tip away for your next Velata party.
I hosted a Velata party a few months ago, and when I asked my Consultant before the party about what I needed to provide, she told me I should get some graham crackers and a bag of “flat marshmallows.”
I’m not a regular marshmallow consumer, so I had no idea that these clever little confections existed. (To be honest, it took me an embarrassingly long time to find any marshmallows at all at the grocery store, and I was pretty sure they were a figment of her imagination.) But I located them and bought a bag, as instructed.
My Consultant walked me through the process of making them, and now I’m going to show you how. They are super addictive, so be prepared with extra Velata chocolate.
Step 1: Place an individual marshmallow on top of a graham cracker square.
Step 2: Place on a baking sheet.
Step 3: Transfer to either your oven broiler or a toaster oven. Stare down your dog while he waits for you to drop your sheet of marshmallows and graham crackers.
Step 4: Broil until marshmallows are puffy and golden brown. This will take less time than you think, so it’s best to keep your eye on the marshmallows.
Step 5: Have your Velata ready!
Step 6: Spread your Velata chocolate on the marshmallow or just go ahead and dunk.
Enjoy!
