Oh, how we love our cute Scentsy Buddies! Which ones are your favorites? Mine happen to be Patch and Scratch, but for different reasons than you might think!

Meet the real Patch and Scratch – Ajax and Paws. They have been part of our family for 8 years. When Scentsy decided to add a cat and dog to the Scentsy Buddy line and I was tasked to create them, I contemplated which type of dog breed to use as design inspiration. I tried to think of a friendly, loyal dog that would be a good companion. Of course my own dog came to mind – our big, cuddly Saint Bernard!

At 150 pounds, this big softie loves all people and still tries to sit on our laps. Just like the description on ScentsyBuddy.com, Ajax’s favorite activity is to sit on the trampoline or kid slide to keep watch over the family. As soon as we come home, he is the first to greet us. Though he isn’t much for a long game of tug-of-war, he loves to take his time to “smell the roses” on walks with his powerful sense of smell (a perfect dog for Scentsy, don’t you think?). Just like Patch, his solemn face shows his compassionate side, always willing to lend an ear on a bad day.

He likes to play with other animals, especially his friend Paws—the inspiration for Scratch the Cat. Our cunning cat is always up for a game of chase – but on his terms only. He stands frozen until Ajax is just close enough, and then saunters off as if he is bored. But don’t let him fool you; he loves to cuddle with that big dog. Paws is an easy-going cat, always playing it cool. 

The full-size versions of Patch and Scratch will soon be retired from the Scentsy Buddy family. I hope you or someone you know has enjoyed the companionship of these Buddies as much as we have loved Ajax and Paws! Please share your stories about a favorite pet (or Buddy) below!
