The busy holiday season will be here soon—families and friends will gather to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Eve, six holidays surrounded with festivities and fun. Unfortunately, these holidays also mark the six days of the year with the highest number of reported home fires—think Christmas lights, decorative candles, and a roaring fire in the fireplace. There are more home fires in December and January than at any other time during the year.

To help you celebrate the holidays safely this year, we are going to feature a few wickless holiday decorating ideas each week now through New Year’s Eve.

First off: Halloween!
