To help lighten the load on your wallet, we’ve put together a list of ideas on how to travel on a budget with the hope of seeing ALL of our Scentsy Family Consultants in July! Use these ideas to make it to Reunion or to plan an affordable summer family vacation.
Give “Combine-and-Save” a Whole New Meaning…
Traveling in groups is not only a safer way to travel, you can also save a lot of money. Look into package deals for group airfare and hotel rooms or split meals with a friend. Frequenting a nearby grocery store for meals instead of eating out helps too.
Look Local

“When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world.” – Rabbi Harold Kushner
This Thursday, April 25, is Pay it Forward Day 2013.
When you “pay it forward,” you do a good deed for another and ask the beneficiary of that good deed to repay the kindness to others. It becomes an endless chain of kindness, hope, and generosity. If you’re familiar with Scentsy, you know one of our core values is generosity. We define generosity as a willingness to give more than you take. Sometimes you give with money. Sometimes you give your time. Sometimes you give with a simple look and a smile to another that says, “Keep going. You’ve got this.” The important thing is to give.
This will be the third year that Scentsy’s owners, Heidi and Orville Thompson, have given each Scentsy employee $10 to “pay it forward.” Many of our employees combine efforts to make a larger donation to a worthwhile cause or add the ...

The pressure to host the perfect party can take all the joy out of what is supposed to be a fun and memorable occasion with friends and family. But holiday entertaining doesn't have to equal stress. By planning ahead and simplifying your party plans, you can host a fun, festive get-together that you'll remember for holidays to come.
Take the headache out of entertaining this season with tips to make your holiday gathering simple and satisfying.
1. Get your deep cleaning done the week before your party. Make a list of the labor-intensive housework and get the big stuff out of the way so you can focus on the party's finishing touches.
2. Forego paper invitations. Use electronic invites or create an event page on Facebook. It's free and easy, and makes RVSPing a mere click of a button for your guests. Online invitation sites like eVite, Pingg and Cocodot offer plenty of beautiful, free and customizable invitation options.
3. Forget elaborate dishes and desserts. Fondue is the easiest way to create an insta ...

This month Scentsy celebrates its 8th birthday—eight amazing years that transformed a tiny candle company whose owners were deep in debt into a thriving, international business with multiple product lines, multiple brands, and millions in revenue. But eight years isn’t that long, and Scentsy’s owners, Heidi and Orville Thompson, have not forgotten those difficult years before success when a little help from friends and strangers gave them hope for a fresh start.
Hope and a fresh start is exactly what Duale Mohamoud needed when he arrived in in the United States six years ago at the age of 18. Duale’s family fled war in Ethiopia when he was just a baby, so he has no recollection of his native country. Instead, Duale (pronounced Du-all-ee), spent his growing-up years in a refugee camp in Kenya, a camp he estimates had more than a million people. He remembers newer arrivals in the camp whose homes consisted of just brush and how those “homes” were washed ...

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a big deal here in Boise – it’s an incredibly popular event and regularly attracts thousands of people who have been affected by breast cancer. For the past few years, Scentsy has been a sponsor of Boise’s Race for the Cure, and we couldn’t have been prouder to continue that tradition this year.
Scentsy employees in Idaho and Texas, Consultants, and their families recently joined the throngs of bedazzled, sequined, and plumed runners and walkers whose colorful costumes and heartfelt tribute shirts brought poignancy and fun to this important race.
We’ve participated in the Race for the Cure year after year not just because it’s fun, but because it’s a cause we take seriously. Many of you know that Alice Kalilimoku, Scentsy President Heidi Thompson’s mom, is a breast cancer survivor. We’ve had home office employees and Consultants who have battled the disease. Our Charitable Cause Warmer L ...

By Johanna Payne, Scentsy Archivist
As I write this blog, I am sitting in the Conference Center of the beautiful Aventura Spa Palace Resort in Riviera Maya. It is a balmy 82 degrees outside and I’m watching Scentsy Consultants walk by in shorts, flip flops and t-shirts. I have to admit, this is much nicer weather than the 30 degrees at the home office in Meridian, Idaho.
I am among the lucky few at Scentsy who were selected to attend Leadership. I am using this opportunity to meet Consultants and learn about their history with Scentsy. These are all vital parts of my role as Archivist.
Leadership is a one week event that is held each January. Only Directors, Star Directors and SuperStar Directors can attend. It is an opportunity for attendees to receive specialized training to help them be better team leaders. It is also a time to renew friendships with their team and with other Consultants. I loved watching Consultants greet each other with hugs and smiles on the first day of L ...

As the New Year approaches, we at Scentsy have been taking a little time to look back on the last year. It was a year in which Scentsy’s owners, Consultants, and employees put into practice Scentsy’s value of generosity— which we interpret as “contribute more than you take.” Here’s a look at some highlights of Scentsy’s charitable giving in 2011.
In April, Scentsy’s owners Heidi and Orville Thompson presented a check for $613,177 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation from sales of Scentsy’s ‘Love. Life. Hope.’ Charitable Cause Warmer featured in the Fall/Winter 2010 Catalog. The donation was Scentsy’s largest cash contribution to date and part of the company’s overarching goal to donate $1 million to breast cancer charities across the country by 2013.
Scentsy Consultants and employees turn out on a blustery April day to honor those who have fought breast cancer.
Then in August, Scentsy launched a “Halt the ...
