Think sun damage doesn't apply to you? Here are some surprising myths about skin protection that'll make you think twice about how you're treating your skin:
- I’m only susceptible to sun damage in my bathing suit! Think again…you might be fully dressed, head-to-toe and completely vulnerable to the sun. Lightweight cotton only provides SPF 5 for your skin. That’s practically nothing!
- I put sunscreen on this morning…I’m fine until I go to bed. No! Sunscreen can wear off as your skin rubs against clothing, towels or other surfaces, or displaced by sweat, swimming or washing your hands. You should be re-applying every few hours, and some experts recommend as often as every 80-90 minutes. Using a water resistant formula will help preserve your protection, but when in doubt, always re-apply!
- I’m indoors. No need for sunscreen today! Chances are, you’re inside a building loaded with windows, or in a car surrounded by them. The ave ...

In 2012, Pantone announced Tangerine Tango as the Color of the Year. I saw it everywhere from jewelry to cardigans. It started popping up in home décor as a punch of color mixed with neutrals.
This year, Pantone announced Emerald as the 2013 Color of the Year. Associated with brilliant gemstones, the vibrant green is sophisticated and inspiring.
"The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors." (pantone.com)
Many trends take time to make it into the mainstream market; and how often can we change our décor to fit the latest trend? Luckily, with Scentsy ...

We’ve all been there. The phone is ringing. You’re hustling through an airport, or grocery store, or parking garage. Your hands are full, juggling luggage, lunch, kids — and all the stuff that comes with them. It rings again, so you shift your coffee and plunge your hand into your bag, not losing step. You dig around, coming up with old granola bars, gum wrappers, ink pens run dry. Still ringing. Still digging — you feel more panicky and harried by the second.
Then … silence. You missed the call!
There’s nothing like the sinking feeling of defeat that comes with missing a call. What if it was important? What if I missed my chance? What if they NEVER call back? We all know the problem. And now we have the solution! With the Grace Adele Intelligent Interior™ you can find your phone — or car keys or wallet — in a snap! Why? Velata is such a fun, party-friendly dessert. Dip nearly anything in chocolate and you’re guaranteed to be satisfied. If you don’t believe me, just read this recent post about a backyard barbeque with Velata!
For a recent birthday party, we took on the exciting task of showcasing the ease and versatility of Velata as a party treat: Velata Kabobs. This is a beautiful dessert anyone can make as long as you have the ability to put something on a stick and dip it into chocolate! It’s supremely simple, but that’s what makes it fantastically fabulous! Are you ready?
Step One: Buy skewers, your favorite fruit (we got strawberries and pineapple), and marshmallows (it was for a child’s birthday after all).
Step Two: Wash the fruit (but maybe not the marshmallows).
Step Three: Cut your fruit into “kabob-able” chunks.
Step Four: Skewer away! Alternate fruit and marshmallows for fun color variation. Start with a piece of fruit first -- it ...

Summertime is in full swing and that means it’s barbeque season! You know: dogs or burgers on the grill, chips and fruits for munching, ice cold soda and fun treats. And around here, any mention of food means Velata isn’t far behind.
So, naturally, this thought popped into my mind: “How much of my barbeque can I dip in Velata chocolate?”
Turns out the answer is: pretty much all of it!
1. Hot dog
source
My brain just compartmentalized this one. “Oh, there’s Velata, mmm. And oh, there’s a hot dog!” A mouth full of chocolate just starts an entrée off nicely. Although I must say, I did feel like Miss Piggy dunking a whole hot dog into the suddenly-too-small Velata warmer dish.
2. Fried Chicken
You guys… chicken and chocolate; need I say more? Not only does it have a ring to it, now it has a sweet smoothness, too! Salty and sweet makes me weak in the knees. Juicy white chicken bathed in soft brown mil ...

This month Scentsy celebrates its 8th birthday—eight amazing years that transformed a tiny candle company whose owners were deep in debt into a thriving, international business with multiple product lines, multiple brands, and millions in revenue. But eight years isn’t that long, and Scentsy’s owners, Heidi and Orville Thompson, have not forgotten those difficult years before success when a little help from friends and strangers gave them hope for a fresh start.
Hope and a fresh start is exactly what Duale Mohamoud needed when he arrived in in the United States six years ago at the age of 18. Duale’s family fled war in Ethiopia when he was just a baby, so he has no recollection of his native country. Instead, Duale (pronounced Du-all-ee), spent his growing-up years in a refugee camp in Kenya, a camp he estimates had more than a million people. He remembers newer arrivals in the camp whose homes consisted of just brush and how those “homes” were washed ...

It’s officially summertime, at least in our neck of the high-desert in Idaho. It’s a great time of year and adding to the excitement of the sunny season is the return of Bring Back My Bar. As you know, this summer’s BBMB makes 20 discontinued Scentsy bars available for the month of July. Participation was phenomenal this time around: nearly 4 million votes (not a typo — whoa) were cast by dedicated fans of these fragrances. There’s a lot to like about BBMB—the return of old fragrances (and the memories associated with them); the chance for Consultants and customers to participate in the voting process; new customers experiencing old fragrances; and the option to purchase the whole set at a discount.
Need some ideas for making the most of BBMB? Here are a couple of ways you might incorporate BBMB into parties this July.
