About three weeks ago I was lucky enough to tagalong with Scentsy’s video team for the October Scent of the Month shoot of Mandarin Moon. It’s always a treat to spend time with the video team; they work super hard and have a great time. Join me on my behind-the-scenes look!
Planning for a video shoot starts weeks (sometimes months) in advance. The team draws inspiration from the fragrance and its ingredients and then develops the video concept from there.
The Mandarin Moon video shoot took place at a variety of locations. The first was a little tearoom and café— selected because the notes of cinnamon and star-anise give the fragrance a cozy aroma that is a perfect fit for a tearoom.
When we film in retail locations, business is still going on as usual, so we get many curious looks and have to work around people—but that’s all part of the fun. The next stop was just down the road at a vibrant, indoor produce market which was chosen to portray the gin ...
