More than 28,000 Scentsy Consultants and guests are registered to attend Spring Sprint 2012, that's 10,000 more than last year! Attendees will be among the first to get amazing training, see new Scentsy warmers, smell yummy new fragrances, and test the exciting Layers by Scentsy products. Attendees may even get a look at Velata, the very tasty fondue brand recently announced by Scentsy, Inc.

We’ve visited six locations so far, and the response has been amazing! Here is what people are saying:

So for all the Scentsy fans out there, there is no better time than now to get in touch with your Scentsy Consultant as new spring catalogs and products begin to show up in Consultant homes. Be sure to ask about Pink Pepper! Visit the Spring Sprint Fan Page for more fun comments and photos. Here is one from Spring Sprint in Orlando, Florida! Can you guess what game we're playing?

Say What? When Language Translation Isn’t As Easy As It Seems

By Elizabeth Brady, Scentsy Translation Coordinator  I bet we’ve all heard at least one story about a tourist inadvertently offending locals when the tourist made a gesture that is perfectly normal in their culture, but definitely means something quite different in the place they are visiting. Hand motions can get pretty tricky when you cross cultures! (Just a tip: don’t give anyone a thumbs-up in the Middle East, use the “come here” index finger motion in Asian cultures, and it’s really for the best if you never signal for two items by holding up your index and middle finger, palm out, in the United Kingdom. Oh! And the “ok” sign of touching the tip of your index finger to your thumb and holding up the other three fingers? Just avoid that in most cultures.) Words carry a lot of implications, too. I have a friend from college who is from the United Kingdom. Whenever he would ask where the “toilet” was, invariably some freshman girl would raise ...

Scentsy Leadership Retreat 2012

By Johanna Payne, Scentsy Archivist    As I write this blog, I am sitting in the Conference Center of the beautiful Aventura Spa Palace Resort in Riviera Maya. It is a balmy 82 degrees outside and I’m watching Scentsy Consultants walk by in shorts, flip flops and t-shirts. I have to admit, this is much nicer weather than the 30 degrees at the home office in Meridian, Idaho. I am among the lucky few at Scentsy who were selected to attend Leadership. I am using this opportunity to meet Consultants and learn about their history with Scentsy. These are all vital parts of my role as Archivist. Leadership is a one week event that is held each January. Only Directors, Star Directors and SuperStar Directors can attend. It is an opportunity for attendees to receive specialized training to help them be better team leaders. It is also a time to renew friendships with their team and with other Consultants. I loved watching Consultants greet each other with hugs and smiles on the first day of L ...

That’s the Spirit! Bringing Your Best Self to the Table Every Day

By Motivational Speaker and Change Expert Connie Podesta Editors’s note: Connie was a speaker at Scentsy’s 2011 Convention in Fort Worth, Texas. Here she shares some of her New Year suggestions for Scentsy Consultants, but it’s good advice for anyone who wants to start the year off right. Wow, did I ever love my time spent with Team Scentsy!  I was moved by your energy, passion and SPIRIT for what you do. These are the differentiators that allow you to rise to the top and stay there.  And they are powerful game changers to keep in mind as you face the year ahead.  As Scentsy Consultants and entrepreneurs, you get to take a ‘sky’s the limit’ approach to life and career.  How far you go, how much you make and who you work with is entirely up to you-- which for many of you is both a blessing and a curse, right?  It’s awesome in theory but a heck of a lot of pressure sometimes. I tell you what… Here are a few ideas for keeping your ...

More Parties, Please!

Since the birth of the Scentsy Blog, I’ve taken on the holiday beat, telling stories, sharing pictures, and making product recommendations based on the holiday at hand. We’ve had a few laughs, shed a few tears (on my end, when I miss a deadline), and seen a lot of fantastic holiday products to boot. I’ve had a great time—and hope you have, too—but the holidays can be a bit predictable, don’t you think? After all, the same ones come around every year! I was ready to spice things up for 2012. So in addition to writing about Christmas and Fried Chicken Day (July 6), I’ve wrangled another beat out of Tara, our brave blog leader: the Scentsy party.  Scentsy is great because the parties are simple, fun, and interactive! You wouldn’t buy a car without test driving it, would you? So why would you purchase home or fine fragrance without giving it a sniff? The best place to test drive new warmers and scents is at a Scentsy party, bar none. You bring togethe ...

What is creativity?

“A pint of Pabst, please.” “Here you go. That’ll be $2.50.” “Ahh. Cheap beer at its finest. Here you go. Keep the change.” “Thank you much. Say … you wouldn’t happen to work at Scentsy, would you?” “I do. How could you tell?” “Well, to be perfectly honest, you smell like it.” “Hah. I guess that happens. Occupational hazard, right?” “What do you do there?” “I do web design for them.” “Oh … web design? It’s a pretty up-and-coming line of work, isn’t it?” “Yeah. I get to be creative, and get paid for it.” “Oh … I wish I could be creative. I can just draw stick figures … that’s all.” And the conversation continues … This interaction between myself, and someone who doesn’t consider themselves ‘creative’ happens more than you think. The five o’clock bartender, the old lad ...

The Good Thing About Those Pesky New Year Resolutions

via Every New Year there is a lot of commotion about resolutions, which is just another word for goals. Some people like'em, others hate'em and others don't see the value of goals and do all in their power to completely avoid them.  I, frankly, don’t understand. Without goals you can’t score. If you can’t score goals you can’t win. The way I understand it, the more goals you score, the more likely you are to win. Soccer is a great game but if you took out goals then it’s just a field of grass with white lines and 22 people aimlessly passing and dribbling. It would be void of the very tangible passion and energy that are the essence of soccer. Goals get people excited or upset. Scoring just one goal ignites such massive, intense emotion - people scream, yell, jump, clap, and go crazy. All this general pandemonium is accompanied by the overwhelming echo of the seemingly never-ending yell of the announcer…GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ...

Scentsy Names 2012’s Fragrance Note of the Year!

By Stephanie Finch, PR Associate For me a new year means making dozens of overly optimistic New Year’s resolutions  and reading as many trend stories as I can get my hands on—think fashion and beauty products. I’ve always wished I was part of those teams that get to “predict” the future, but I never thought I would actually be on one. Ever. But guess what? I was and I did!!   After twelve months of navigating the tricky landscape of predicting fragrance trends, Scentsy is launching ScenTrend—an annual designation of the most trend-setting fragrance note for the upcoming year.  Are you ready to know what the ScenTrend 2012 is? Drum roll please…it is Pink Pepper! I know, you’re wondering what in the world Pink Pepper is and why it is perfect for 2012. Let me tell/show you.  The Pink Pepper fragrance note is distilled from the rose-hued berries (above) from the Peruvian pepper tree and, although it has no relationship to black pepp ...

Instagram Incredibles

We are thrilled that Velata is popping up all over Instagram thanks to our wonderful Consultants and fans who are finding new and unique ways to use our delicious cheese and chocolate. We’ve put together a few of our favorite ideas for you to check out for inspiration!

@jhuffman76 is our hero! She’s always coming up with great ideas to use Velata. This time she used a Mocha Mixable in her cream cheese frosting for these gorgeous cupcakes, and then drizzled Velata Caramel Milk Chocolate on top.

@kristinafreeman says her kids called her “Super Mom” the night she drizzled melted Velata Chocolate Fondue on pound cake for dessert. Seems fitting….

Just when you think mac & cheese can’t get any better, @stitchinscents takes it one step further by using Velata Cheese. Plus, look at all that broccoli…. it’s practically diet food.

@angelface041206 earns her moniker by making homemade Cranberry Bark with Velata White Chocolate. Yummm….

@rockinflameless made homemade Crunch Wrap Supremes with Velata Cheese Fondue. Can we please give this woman a round of applause?

Have you come up with a unique way to use Velata Chocolate or Velata Cheese Fondue? We seriously go nuts over these pictures, so please feel free to share! Use #Velata on Instagram or email them to us at officialvelata@gmail.com
