Meet your new weekend routine
The market is open! Scentsy’s new Farmers Market collection just dropped, and the fresh-picked fragrances and décor have us craving all the fruits, veggies and homemade treats we can get.
Some of your best spring moments might be waiting for you at the local farmers market. It’s a great place to shop and eat on a Saturday morning, plus you get to people-watch and mingle with your neighbors in the sunshine. But it doesn’t end there. The market is great for the whole family. You can support your local farmers, crafters and other small businesses, plus it feels good to know exactly what you’re putting on your plate at home. And the kids will love the free samples!
Ready to shop? Here are a few tips to make the most of your local farmers market:
Start early for the best market finds

As with any good thing, once word gets out it can be tricky to find a place to park. Beat the rush so you can take your time meandering through booths, snacking on samples and filling your tote with the juiciest fruits, brightest greens and choicest cuts of meat.
Come hungry and try the best farmers market foods
Not only is the market a try-before-you-buy shopping experience, where you can sample everything from homemade dips, salsas and sauces to roasted nuts, fresh-brewed root beer and kettle corn, most also have food trucks, coffee carts and other treats to snack on while you browse. Save room for hot-and-fresh donuts, a fan favorite!
Meal plan from the ground up with fresh, whole ingredients
It’s so much easier to eat a healthy, fruit-and-veggie-forward diet during the spring and summer months, when the produce is fresh and higher temperatures have us craving berry smoothies, cold salads and grilled fish. Before hitting the market, meal plan your week to be sure you get all the farm-to-table ingredients you need. But keep your eyes open for inspiration, too. If peaches are in season or there’s a surplus of spring mix, be willing to switch things up!
And don’t forget to bring enough tote bags, especially ones with sturdy shoulder straps to keep your hands free while you shop. Consider breathable burlap or mesh to keep your fruits and veggies fresh until you can unpack them at home.
Savor the stroll

The market is as much about the friendly chatter as it is about the shopping. Build in extra time to connect with your neighbors, chat up a vendor or ask questions about the process behind making organic beeswax lip balm. Any extra time spent at the market is time well spent.
The market isn’t just about what you bring home in your tote. With so much to see, hear, touch, taste and smell, it’s a whole sensory experience. To capture the spirit of the market and help make everyday moments feel a little more special, try spring home fragrance and handcrafted décor from The May Edit: Farmers Market.
