Tips for pampering yourself in style
It’s not easy keeping up with everything you need to accomplish every day.
From sunrise to sundown, it seems like your only gear is “go” as you race from one thing to the other, trying to take care of everyone you love — often without much fanfare.
We get it. Sometimes you really need a break.
For moments like that, here are a few ideas for you to make some time for yourself and recharge those batteries.
Find your happy place
It might be your bedroom, the guest room, or anywhere in your home where you can lock the door and take a deep breath.
Wherever you find your oasis, be sure it’s free from distractions. Get a friend or neighbor to watch your kids for an hour or two — anything to give yourself some much-needed tranquility.
Set a mood
You might try playing some soft music, or find a looping video of soothing nature sounds to create a serene atmosphere.
To really fill the room with relaxation, try dropping a few cubes of Just Breathe or Vanillamint into your favorite Scentsy Warmer.
Soon, you’ll start to feel like yourself again.
Mix it up
Maybe your idea of “me time” is a bit more energetic? If you want to crank up the music and belt out your favorite Alicia Keys song, or play air guitar from the top of the coffee table, go for it! Who cares what the neighbors think? (Just be careful not to hurt yourself.)
Or you might prefer to curl up on the sofa with a good book or a favorite film, and enjoy a cup of tea or that last slice of chocolate cheesecake.
Better yet, maybe you’d like to run a hot bath, drop in a Shimmer or Blue Grotto Scentsy Bath Bomb and wash the cares of the day away — and down the drain.
It’s all up to you.
Play time
Twenty years from now, you won’t wish you would’ve folded more laundry. You will miss those precious kiddos who sometimes drive you a little bit bonkers.
So maybe once in a while, your “me time” can also be “wee time” with the emphasis on having fun with those adorable children you share your life with.
Go to the park, watch Toy Story for the umpteenth time, make banana splits together, or just build a fort out of the sofa cushions. You almost can’t go wrong when it comes to planning an hour of fun with your little ones.
Those are the times you — and they — will remember for years to come. The laundry can wait another day while you make some unforgettable memories.
Repeat often
The key to pampering yourself is consistency. Don’t let too much time pass between moments like these.
Remember, your family depends on you for so much, and that means taking care of yourself needs to be a priority.
Seriously, there’s no need to feel guilty or selfish about your “me time.”
You’re the only you that they — or you — will ever have.
So take good care of yourself.
