In an era of big box stores running out the mom and pop shops, and self-checkout kiosks taking the place of friendly, knowledgeable sales clerks, getting to know your customers has become a relic of the past.
But in the direct selling industry, getting to really know your customers and letting them get to know you is critical to your success. Numerous studies indicate customers are more likely to be loyal – even if they can get the same item or service at a lower price elsewhere – if they have a personal relationship with a retailer or service provider.
To increase awareness of the importance of building relationships with customers, Get to Know Your Customers Day is observed third Thursday of January, April, July and October. It just so happens the last observance of 2017 is coming up on Oct. 19!
Though you certainly don’t need a holiday to check in with your customers, Get to Know your Customers Day is a good opportunity to touch base and strengthen your relationships with your customers and Hosts.
