The sun’s out, the kids are on vacation and the time is right for some good old-fashioned games, and we don’t mean the kind powered by technology. We mean the ones have your children running around, and having fun, or you can make up a game yourself! There are loads of options, but did you know that it’s super easy to put together an awesome DIY game using stuff you likely have on hand (or that’s inexpensive to buy)?
Here are some ideas for easy and entertaining at-home games and even an on-the-road option!
Pool Noodle Ring Toss
This is a blast to play and the soft, pliable pool noodles make perfect rings!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 pool noodles (three to make the rings, and one to make the pegs)
- Duct tape
- Sticks
Here’s what to do:
- Form three pool noodles into circles and tightly tape each one together.
- Cut one pool noodle into thirds (these pieces will be used to make the pegs).
- Push sticks into the ground and place a piece of pool noodle over each one to make the pegs.
- Take turns tossing the pool noodle rings around the pegs. (The players should toss the rings from behind a clear line, so everyone has to toss from the same distance.)
Backyard Bowling
Kids and adults will love making and playing this backyard favorite!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Empty 1-liter bottles for the pins (as many as you like)
- Plastic-friendly paint in your choice of colors
- Dry beans or sand
- 1 kickball
Here’s what to do:
- Paint the bottles in the colors of your choice.
- Fill the bottom of each bottle with the beans or sand for weight.
- Use the kickball to knock the bottles down!

Thank you for game idea’s. Looks like fun!
I had left knee total replacement 6/13/17. I can only take orders from my customers while i recover from surgery. I was going to reunion until I found out I needed my surgery sooner than I expected.
So eager to hear all new changes co.ing about in September. Thank you
