Acknowledge excellent work:
Has someone been going the extra mile at work or at home? Let them know you’ve noticed. It’s also fun to share overheard compliments. Positive reinforcement will make the recipient feel good about the effort they’ve put in and want to keep it up!
Say thank you:
Whether it’s face-to-face, over the phone or an old fashioned thank-you card, a simple and sincere “thank you” can be the best compliment. Or slip a surprise note inside your child’s or spouse’s lunch bag to ensure they’ll have a fabulous day.
Act on it:
Compliments come in many forms, including acts of kindness. Offer to drive the carpool for an overwhelmed parent; check in with a friend who’s just had surgery to see if you can pick up anything at the grocery store for them; shovel a neighbor’s driveway after a snow storm. It doesn’t require a ton of effort to show someone you care.
Give a little:
