Congratulations! You’ve got a Scentsy party on the schedule. It’s the perfect opportunity to help people experience world-class home fragrance and have fun — and preparing a few simple party plans will allow your Host and guests to enjoy the social occasion. Learn some quick tips for throwing a fragrance bash that everyone will love!
Choose a theme
Help your Host pick a theme or reason for gathering. If there’s a holiday coming up, that’s an easy theme! Or, pick something off-the-wall and interactive, like retro costume party. But remember, your Host doesn’t need a specific reason to have a Scentsy party. Just getting together with friends and having a good time is enough!
Know who’s who
Get to know each person at the party with simple games and conversation starters. Find out what sort of fragrances they like (for example, do they prefer vanilla or lemon? Mint or cinnamon?) and if any guests have common preferences. Learning about the partygoers will help you guide them to the Scentsy products they’ll connect to the most. Someone who’s constantly on the road may be interested in Scentsy Car Bars or Travel Twists, while someone who has a desk job will love the trim design of a tabletop fan diffuser or Fragrance Flower.
Prepare simple party food
No party is complete without something to eat! Find a variety of recipes on our blog if you want to try something new. Keep your refreshments simple so the atmosphere stays relaxed (and so your Host isn’t running back and forth from the kitchen). Consider serving your party food and drinks before passing around fragrance testers, so the culinary aromas and Scentsy fragrances don’t interfere with one another.
Combine fun and fragrance
Before the party starts, consider warming a few cubes of a Scentsy Bar so your guests immediately get a whiff of high-quality home fragrance when they enter. Only warm one fragrance to avoid overwhelming your guests — they’ll want to explore other scents, too!
Some of the people at your party may be familiar with Scentsy and some may not be. For those who are new to choosing fragrance, make some time to teach them the basics. Learning about fragrance families is an easy entrance to fragrances. If the fragrance Blueberry Cheesecake is a hit, try exploring other bakery scents, or if your guests love Luna and want to know what’s similar, sniff some floral scents.
Have a friendly contest using fragrance testers to see who knows their scents the best! If the majority of the party guests are new to Scentsy, give them a list of scents (and corresponding fragrance notes) to choose from. Or, have guests guess what a fragrance smells like based on its name. Award small prizes to the guest who guesses the most fragrances correctly.
Select your top fragrances
Make sure you know which scents you want to highlight before the party begins. Review their fragrance notes, decide what you personally enjoy about each one and brainstorm when you’d use these scents.
Introduce the partygoers to as many fragrances as you like, but consider limiting the number. Smelling too many scents can lead to olfactory fatigue. Use your expertise to guide your guests to fragrances you think they’ll most enjoy, and let them know you’re available for further recommendations down the road!
