We know the kids are back in school and the NFL is in full swing. Temperatures may even be dropping in your hometown, and you can’t wait to don your cozy fall sweaters again.
But check the calendar: It’s still SUMMER!
That’s right, the first day of fall isn’t until Sept. 22 — a whole week away! So quit praying for snow, and eke out the last few days of summertime.
For those of you who wish it could be summer year round, here are five ideas for hanging on to the sunny season as long as possible.
Surround yourself in Sunkissed Citrus
Since it first launched in our Spring/Summer 2005 Catalog, Sunkissed Citrus has become a Scentsy Classic — and for good reason! This lively blend of oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit is consistently among our customers’ favorites. Available in nearly every Scentsy fragrance product — including Scent (Scentsy Bar, Room Spray, Scent Pak, Scent Circles, Travel Twists and Car Bar), Laundry (Dryer Disk, Laundry Liquid, Washer Whiffs and Washer Whiffs Tub), Clean (Counter Clean and Kitchen Soap) and Body (Body Cream, Body Wash, Fragrance Roller, Hand Cream, Lotion and Hand Soap) — Sunkissed Citrus keeps summer going long after the first snowfall!
Bring the outdoors in
No matter what the weather brings outside, maintain a summer theme indoors with wildflowers, tropical fruit or beach-inspired décor! Scentsy’s newest catalog may say Fall/Winter 2017, but there are plenty of gorgeous warmers to evoke summertime, from Daisy Lantern and Southern Hospitality Warmers to Sea Star and Sand Dollar Mini Warmers. Or create your own sunny haven in a Make a Scene or Little Garden Warmer with the handful of sand and seashells you collected during your beach vacay.
Fly south for the winter
Each year, our top Scentsy Consultants escape the winter doldrums and head south for our annual Leadership retreat. If you’re not yet a Scentsy Director, plan now to reach that goal by January 2018 and join us in the Big Easy — New Orleans — for inspiration, training and FUN! OK, so maybe an average high of 62 degrees in January isn’t exactly bursting the thermometer, but depending on where you call home, it might just be enough of a jump to get you in a summer mood!
Barbecue
Nothing says summer like firing up the grill and inviting over a few friends or neighbors. Do you need anymore convincing? You won’t regret it and neither will you guests. But who says that’s just a summer activity? Take advantage of seasonal produce — plenty of fall and winter veggies, like winter squash and Brussels sprouts, are great on the grill — and ask your guests to bring a favorite summertime dish to share. Keep it fresh with salads, a simple grilled main course and of course ice cream for dessert! If the weather isn’t conducive to an outside party, you can still keep the barbecue vibe going indoors with picnic-style decorations, utensils and a fun centerpiece.
Watch the sun set
As the days get shorter, you don’t have to stay up past your bedtime to watch the sun go down. In fact, you may find the sun setting by the time you sit down to dinner. So instead of flopping down on the couch with leftovers and Netflix, turn off the TV (and your phone!) and dine alfresco. It might get chilly, so dress accordingly or grab a couple blankets, stoke the fire pit and take in the sunset. Use this time as a reminder to slow down, live in the moment and savor time with family and friends.
