The countdown to spring break is on!
This is your chance to steal away from the last weeks of winter and find a little sunshine — maybe even an adventure or two. Whether you have an epic destination in mind for the week or just plan to celebrate a few free days with your family at home, remember: This is your official test-run for summer fun!
Here are some tips to make the most of your time off:
For the Traveler
Don’t forget to pack the essentials.
It might seem silly to check and double check your suitcase, but you’ll feel a lot sillier if you have to go the whole week without socks. Be sure to bring enough sets of clothes for each day of your trip, plus one spare outfit, and include light layers for unexpected weather. A few other easy-to-forget items: charge cords, prescriptions, your passport (if needed) and sunglasses.
It’s also easy to bring along a few comforts from home. Pack your favorite pillow and slippers, bring your own ground or instant coffee and keep a Scentsy Go in your hotel room to make it all the more warm and welcoming.
Mind your skin goals.
You’ve been working hard all winter to banish dryness and lackluster skin — don’t miss a beat this week! Pack your whole beauty arsenal, from cleansers to moisturizers and everything in between. Be sure to toss a travel-friendly perfume in your bag for whenever you need a pick-me-up.
Enjoy the ride!
Whether you’re taking a long road trip or you just plan on driving yourself to the airport, set the mood for your entire vacation with the perfect playlist and a lush, getaway fragrance. The right scent can help improve your mood — and the moods of any young, restless travelers you might have in the backseat.
For the Staycationer
Staying home? Bring the beach.
If you and your family have been sprinting since New Year’s Day, consider planning a little at-home retreat from the hustle instead. Your staycation can be just as relaxing as a beach resort — when you have a few sensory tricks up your sleeve:
- Put on a low-key luau! Whether it’s just for your family or you decide to invite friends over, throw these easy Hawaiian Chicken Kebobs on the grill, infuse a large pitcher of water with a few sprigs of fresh mint and pineapple and pass around the leis!
It’s time for a new adventure!
Who doesn’t love to travel? There’s a great big world out there, just waiting to be explored. But seeing it takes … extra. Extra time, extra money, extra planning — even extra energy. Sometimes it’s hard to scrape together what you need to get away. It’s one of the reasons why side jobs have gotten so popular. We crave new experiences, and we’re willing to do what it takes to make them happen!
